Ventura County, CA - 4 agencies get grants to pursue child care

Child Care Workforce In an effort to foster early child development, First 5 Ventura County has handed out grants totaling more than $1.3 million for four projects in Ventura County.
  1. The Ventura College Child Development Center was awarded $90,000 in tuition assistance for low-income students who need child-care services.
  2. The Child Development Resources of Ventura County Inc. received $467,427 for subsidized child-care services for foster children.
  3. With its $660,000 award, Tri-Counties Regional Center will be able to expand its respite-care facilities for families who have toddlers and infants with autism.
  4. El Concilio received $165,000 for Spanish adult literacy classes for parents with infants to 5 years of age in the Santa Clara Valley.
