Sparta — When entrusting the care of your child to someone else, one craves some form of assurance that they are in good hands. Kiddie Academy® has long provided wary parents with a sterling reputation and unparalleled programs; and, the company can add Commission on International and Trans-regional Accreditation (CITA) - and being one of the first educational preschools in the country to receive it - to its already extensive list of accomplishments.
“CITA accreditation is an internationally recognized sign of quality and to have achieved this sets us even further apart from our competition,” said George Malanga, Owner of Kiddie Academy of Sparta, located at 233 Sparta Avenue. “Parents have many choices when selecting childcare and want to feel certain that we adhere to standards that are based on successful professional practices and the latest educational research. The CITA accreditation proves our commitment to quality education and our commitment to the success of our students -just one more reason why we’re the best at what we do.”
In addition to choosing a childcare center that has been recognized by an accrediting agency, Malanga offers insight on other things parents should take into consideration:
• Staff is properly equipped to handle and care for the children in the facility. Children need a lot of attention and constant supervision, therefore, it’s imperative that the staff can accommodate those needs.

• Don’t be afraid to call and ask questions prior to making a commitment. Ask questions like: what are your hours of operation? Are you flexible with drop-off and pick-up times? What are your philosophies on teaching and caring for children? Are the caregivers trained and certified in CPR?
• Always check references and do your research on a childcare facility. It’s important to get feedback from other parents, research any newspaper articles or educational documents printed about the facility, and know your state’s licensing regulations.
• Pay attention to the interaction between the staff, the children and their parents. Do the caregivers seem to enjoy working with the children? Do they use positive reinforcement? Are they respectful of the parents and children?
