Earlier this week, we told you that the Missoula County School Board eliminated the Young Families program at Missoula's Sentinel High School, which didn't survive the budget ax.
The move means that teenage moms can no longer take their babies to school while they go to class. So, 17-year old Jancy has to find another way to balance motherhood with high school.
But, the school board's decision does not mean she and other moms can't still graduate. Child Care Resources in Missoula says it not only helps young moms find daycare near their high school or home, it can offer it almost free of charge.
"We have scholarships for teen parents to finish high school. They don't need a job, it doesn't matter how much their parents make" said Executive Director Kelly Rosenleaf.
She added that Child Care Resources is going to get in tough with the high schools to make sure young moms and dads know it's ready to help, especially those left scrambling after the Young Families program ended.
