Finding affordable, quality child care continues to be one of the biggest challenges facing working parents.
Care.com, a site that offers child care services, commissioned a survey to measure families' attitudes toward child care. The Spotlight on Child Care looked into the costs of child care, how families find child care and child care benefits.
The phone survey of more than 600 parents of young children revealed that the cost of care still remains the biggest burden on families, who pay an average of $7,213 per year on care for one child and $10,828 per year for two or more kids.
Additional findings include:
· For those families that seek child care providers, 50 percent do so by getting recommendations from family or friends and 25 percent use internet sites.
