BRATTLEBORO -- State and local child care officials will be in town tonight to talk about changes in Vermont’s financial assistance program.
MONTPELIER -- The Joint Fiscal Committee, the Legislature's off-season financial oversight panel, endorsed a plan Thursday that will restructure the state's subsidized child care program.
ST. ALBANS CITY — Gov. Jim Douglas and legislative candidates from around the county toured the Barlow Street Preschool Friday morning, in an event organized by Pre-K Now, an advocacy group.
For the first time, more than 150 preschoolers and their families are one step closer to getting the best start, courtesy of Rutland County Head Start.
ADDISON COUNTY — Look for parents in Addison County and around the state this week sporting buttons that declare “This employee made possible because of daycare” and “Support Vermont’s economy, support quality childcare.”
It's hard enough for parents to say goodbye to their kids at drop-off time at preschool or the baby sitter's house. Add in the threat of a major storm or other disaster, and the thought of being unable to reach them can make things scary.
