The upcoming Friday and Saturday runs of the Polar Express, departing the Texas State Railroad’s Palestine depot at 5:30 p.m. each day, will benefit the Anderson County Champions for Children.
Proceeds from tickets sold will be used to train childcare providers in Anderson and surrounding counties, including Cherokee County.
Tickets are $25 for children 2-12 years old and $35 for those 12 and older. Children under 2 must be held on their parent’s lap and travel for free.
A climate-controlled car is available for an additional $5 per ticket, but space is limited and tickets in this car are sold on a first-come, first-served basis only.

The Polar Express will also make runs out of the Palestine depot during the holiday season. Tickets for the Friday, Sunday and weekday runs of the train will cost $19 for kids 2-11, $34 for adults. Tickets in the climate-controlled car cost $21 for kids 2-11 and $38 for adults. Saturday tickets cost $23 for kids 2-11 and $38 for adults, or $25 for kids 2-11 to ride in the climate-controlled car and $42 for adults.
