Oregon's Employment Related Day Care program helps low-income working families pay for child care. This program - also known as the Department of Human Services child care subsidy program - is funded by the Child Care Division of the Oregon Employment Department.

Families are eligible if they:

• have a family income below 185 percent of the federal poverty level;

• have children under 12 years of age who need care (older children can receive care in certain circumstances); and

• need child care to remain employed.

To apply, parents must complete an ERDC application form and submit verification of their income.

Once accepted into the program, parents pay a monthly co-payment to their child care provider, based on family size and income. The ERDC program also pays a fixed monthly rate to the child care provider.
