Times are tough for just about everyone in this economy. If you're seeking work and have young kids to look after, every day can feel like a juggling act. A local daycare center understands and is offering help. And News 3's Jerry Brown reports that the price is right.
It is tough being unemployed, but trying to track down a job with young children at home is even harder.
"It's expensive," laments one mother. "The economy and just trying to have him in daycare..."
If a job search forces you far from home, what do you do with your young children in the meantime? One locally owned and operated chain of daycare centers has come up with a creative and free-of-charge option for parents who find themselves in that bind.
Creative Kids Learning Center is offering one free day of child care, no strings attached, for parents needing to attend a job interview. Basically, all you need are immunization records for your kids, who must also be between the ages of 12 years and 18 months.
"We really feel like this is our little part that we can do to help people out," says Jen, a Creative Kids employee.
It's a deal parents can relate to.
"Oh, that definitely would be awesome! I could definitely use a free day of child care," says Shannon, a local mother.
