Mo. Ranks Near Bottom of States in Eligibility for Child Care Subsidies

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A new report finds that Missouri is among the most stringent nationally in providing child-care subsidies to low-income workers.


To qualify for child-care aid in Missouri, a single parent with two children can earn barely $23,000 a year.

The National Women's Law Center says that income threshold places Missouri in the bottom five states nationally.
